Why Should You Choose A Master Builder as Your Builder?

If a builder is a Master Builder, it means they are a member of a Master Builder's Association, which exists in all Australian states and territories.

Master Builder's Association members are held to the highest standards within the industry because they must fulfil all the qualifications and requirements set by the association as a condition of membership. These include:

  • Registration under the Building Act 1993;

  • Current insurance policies as required by the legislative scheme;

  • Relevant academic qualification;

  • Sufficient practical experience and business experience as traders;

  • Referees from past clients, current clients, previous employers/supervisors and/or trade suppliers; and

  • Satisfactory financial and criminal history reports.

By choosing an accredited Master Builders Association member, you can be assured that your builder is properly licensed and insured as well as complying with strict building codes and guidelines and maintaining a code of ethics.

There are still other benefits that come with choosing a Master Builder, such as:

  • Your builder will be well informed and up to date. Master Builder members are regularly informed of all laws, codes and regulations and have access to training and education courses.

  • Your builder will display a high level of workmanship. Master Builders know that they are a representation of their industry and are required to act in a way that promotes their trade. They are held accountable if they do not comply.

A Master Builder is different from other builders. A Master Builder is highly regarded by consumers for reflecting high standards and professionalism. Is your builder a Master Builder?
